With the global pandemic continuing to impact countries around the world, Resonance Church is still committed to reaching out into the world and making an impact for Jesus Christ through global missions. Although we cannot safely send teams to Paraguay or India at this time, the Board of Elders has approved continuing monthly financial support to Diaconia in Paraguay and the Mukti Mission in India. Both of these ministries are partners of GAiN (Global Aid Network) and are ministries where Resonance Church has sent short-term mission teams to previously. We will be posting updates from both Diaconia and Mukti as they become available, so that as a church community we can continue to support them in prayer.
Of particular need for prayer at this time is the Mukti Mission, which has been hit hard in recent days by the COVID-19 pandemic. Please pray for a swift and complete recovery for Lorraine, Anil, and all those at the Mukti Mission who have been impacted.

As India is experiencing it’s second wave of COVID, the number of infections and deaths have reached a devastating high. Today, the country, with a population of 1.36 billion people, has reported 360,960 new cases and 3,293 deaths (the highest number so far). Hospitals are unable to accommodate patients due to a shortage of beds and medical oxygen supply.
Maharashtra, where Pandita Ramabai Mukti Mission’s main campus is located, is currently the state with the highest number of cases. As the Canadian Chapter for Mukti Mission, we are sad to share that a number of staff and residents at Mukti have contracted the virus. As of Wednesday, April 28, there have been 31 positive cases on campus, and even some deaths among residents and staff. Lorraine Francis, Mukti’s Mission Director, and Anil Francis, Chief of Operations, are two of the staff who have contracted the virus.
We would like to ask you to join us in praying for Mukti Mission. Please pray for God’s protection, healing, comfort and peace over Mukti and the country of India.
