Fruit of the Spirit: FAITHFULNESS

The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
"The LORD is my portion," says my soul,
"therefore I will hope in him."
Lamentations 2: 22-24

It is so easy for us to make the fruit of the Spirit a list of moral behaviours we ought to exhibit. By our own will, we try to be loving, joyful, kind, faithful... but inevitably we fail. It isn't always easy to be walk in faith, especially in the midst of discouraging or difficult circumstances but this is why we turn to Jesus.

He promises us that:
- His love will never run out
- His mercies will never end
- His faithfulness is great

When we put our trust in Him, He helps us to move faithfully in our calling - one step at a time.

This week, the kids will learn the story of the apostles at the High Council (Acts 5: 17-42). Despite being threatened and imprisoned, the apostles showed faithfulness by obeying God's calling in their lives. Help your children to see God's faithfulness in their lives and help them to pray for faithfulness in their own journey.
